Hajia Salamatu Garba has been given a global recognition Award yet again in 2017. According to the organizers in Abu Dhabi , they stated that; "Our #wcw today is Salamatu Garba, a woman passionate about the growth of women as well as agriculture in Northern Nigeria".

WOFAN marks 2017 World food day

World  Food Day,  marked every 16th October, witnessed the convergence of about 80 women groups of 30 members each from 40 different WOFAN center clusters at the WOFAN TRAINING center in Garun Mallam LGA of Kano state Nigeria, to mark the 2017 world food day with important dignitaries from across the region to join WOFAN in facilitating the event.

Malnutrition is at the forefront in destruction in sub Saharan African while the solution is at our doorstep. in our journey to meeting the SDG 2 of zero hunger and addressing malnutrition by 2030, WOFAN, ICRISAT, ADPs and various NGOS and enterprises launched the "groundnut smart recipe manual" in a Train the Trainer (TOT) and demonstration of various groundnut based products workshop.

In a joint letter signed on 26th April 2016 by Josephine Nzerem and Ifeyinwa Egwaoje Venture and Fellowship Managers of Ashoka Africa, they announced Hajia Salamatu Garba WOFAN from Nigeria as the African recipient of 2016 International AWARD and welcoming her to the Anglophone West African and worldwide team.

Women Farmers Scale up Business with Value Addition to Their Farm Products.

After being trained for six months and graduating as entrepreneur from the Farmers Business School organized by WOFAN & ICRISAT with support from CARI/WOFAN project and USAID Ground Nut Scale up Project, 2100 women farmers who graduated from 4 LGAs of Kano state now add value to their products through improved packaging and applying financial management skills as well as measuring to scale their products.
