In Kano, WOFAN joined Millions all over the world to mark the  Global Handwashing Day on October  15- 2012.  Over 3000 pupils from 20 schools and 5 LGAs  of Kano State ,Nigeria  , converged  to Sabon gida primary  in Kumbotso LGA

 of Kano state to witness  : 

   ·         Hand washing with soap  and water demonstration,

   ·         Drama and delivering  hygiene messages by pupils and teachers and

   ·         The  launching of school Gardens using run off water to nuture fruits and vegetable garden in schools.

It was quite interesting to see schools taking over the ownership of the campaign as headmistress and head of PTA address community, media and school children on dangers of open defeaction and keeping dirty hands which can lead to illnesses and death.

Community members and children all agree that the benefit of handwashing can save millions of lives!
