Food and Nutrition security training of the UNDP-GEF funded project


At the " Food and Nutrition security" training of the UNDP-GEF funded project , where the use of Nutrition Monitoring Wheel to 350 extension agents and health workers , expected to step down in 350 communities, spread across 7 states of Nigeria was launched.

WOFAN marks 2017 World food day

World  Food Day,  marked every 16th October, witnessed the convergence of about 80 women groups of 30 members each from 40 different WOFAN center clusters at the WOFAN TRAINING center in Garun Mallam LGA of Kano state Nigeria, to mark the 2017 world food day with important dignitaries from across the region to join WOFAN in facilitating the event.

Malnutrition is at the forefront in destruction in sub Saharan African while the solution is at our doorstep. in our journey to meeting the SDG 2 of zero hunger and addressing malnutrition by 2030, WOFAN, ICRISAT, ADPs and various NGOS and enterprises launched the "groundnut smart recipe manual" in a Train the Trainer (TOT) and demonstration of various groundnut based products workshop.

WOFAN Commences Nutrition awareness/ growth Monitoring for under 5years and agricultural diversification in Rural communities of Kano state towards achieving Sustainable Development Goal 2(SDG2)

As part of its efforts to commence awareness on sustainable Development Goals 2 (SDG 2-) to  “End hunger, achieve food security , improve family nutrition, and promote sustainable agriculture”, 

Baby-Lac Baby Food- A Simple Solution to Malnutrition, receives applaud from rural women in Kano state

 As part of its efforts to contribute to the reduction of malnutrition in Northern Nigeria, WOFAN has launched Baby-Lac, a rice and groundnut-based food preparation for malnourished children under 5 years old.

WOFAN partners with health workers to Mobilize 200 communities across Kano, Katsina and Sokoto on increased access to emergency maternal care services.

In an annual end of year coalition meeting (December 2014), WOFAN with targeted partners and health workers from the Ward units of over 200 communities across 3 states of Kano, Bauchi, Katsina and Sokoto,
